Located in Tahiti, French Polynesia, a tropic paradise full of islands and atolls to explore, you can skip the long ocean crossing and jump straight into cruising some of the most beautiful islands in the world! Sail in autonomy with this classic cruise-ready bluewater sailboat.
We just reduced the price as of 8/3/2021, the owners are motivated to find Halcyon's new caring owners and are accepting all offers!

The offer part is easy - all electronic. An accepted offer and a deposit take her off the market, and the deposit is refundable.    Designed by Robert Perry, the Valiant 40 is a proven and trusted offshore vessel. With an invaluable Monitor windvane, a cutter rig, good sails and a bit of attention to trim, a consistent and comfortable 6.5 to 7.5 knots is the norm on a breezy passage. The hull is solid fiberglass with a canoe stern and offshore cockpit. The modified fin keel provides a perfect balance between stability and maneuverability. These boats are equally comfortable under sail as they are at anchor. The most recent major upgrade was the installation of a new Beta Marine 50 HP engine (only 500 hours!). It comfortably sleeps four in two private cabins with room for two more on settees/sea berths. The sizeable U-shaped galley and large salon table allow for easy entertaining. The storage is spacious, without compromising performance. The living space is well insulated, keeping it cool in the tropics and warm in high latitudes.
The current owners, a younger married couple both of whom hold their USCG 100-ton captains licenses, have meticulously maintained Halcyon. Some of their adventures have been memorialized locally in the Pacific North West, and in some national sailing magazines, bestowing Halcyon with her own bit of notoriety! Recent life events have moved these owners to sell Halcyon.

Halcyon is in excellent condition for her age, and she is ready to safely and comfortably carry her new owners anywhere they want to go! For those interested in visiting the boat, French Polynesia is officially open as of June 2021, to both the United States and Europe. Travelers are welcome to the country, vaccinated or not.
